Watermelon Fun (Apr 29th, 2008)

The sun and warmth are finally beaming down upon our sub-tropical island city. Today was especially beautiful. At eight o'clock Ocean and I witnessed a massive rainbow after a bit of drizzle when the sun came out to say goodnight.

It might be the perfect symmetry, or perhaps the chrome finish. Or maybe the allure could be attributed to something else entirely. Whatever it is, there's something about ball bearings that Ocean and I both find attractive. Here's a recent portrait I borrowed a large-ish bearing for.

The Tub Shack (Apr 5th, 2008)

I've been told by a veteran bathtub racer that he's never seen a team build a facility to work on a bathtub boat before. Usually, an individual or team just takes over a room, shop or shed. Well, we're happy to be a first. Although, to be honest, it's supposed to be a potting shed for a friend's mom.
