I know, not a very elegant name, but the description fits. I fabricated the contraption from mild steel and pre-existing plastic parts. That base is solid steel bar stock, gives it some nice weight. There is something similar in common use called a 'Third Hand', but I thought I'd take it a step further.

Every year for Xmas I like to gift my family and friends with items of my own crafting that usually have a collective theme. This year, because of the wonders of the printing press, I was able to duplicate my efforts (Fifteen times).
Behold the XylemSci Five Year Anniversary Book, 40 sq. ft. of visual enjoyment. It took me a couple months to put together and left my bank account empty for the holidays but it sure made an impact with all those who received one.
